Tomato woman

Summer sun beating you down? I have invested so much in sun block that their stock prices have gone up, tried to cover myself up with every imaginable dupatta, but the tan still prevails. So here I come, armed with grandma’s recipes that promise to take off the tan – surely! Promise you the tan vanishes as if you did some magic. Super simple recipes, the ingredients are found right in your kitchen and well if they are not, just buy them and keep in your kitchen.

1. Besan (Gram flour) + Curd/Cream + Turmeric
Take a spoonful of besan, add some turmeric to it. If you have oily skin, add curd, if dry, add Cream. If you have normal or combination skin you can try adding a bit of both plus some rose water. Mix this into a thickish paste, and put on your face. Let sit for ten minutes and rub off. Wash face with cold water and see the tan disappear! Added bonus: regular use of this mask will reduce facial hair.

2. Cucumber + Rose Water
Grate a cucumber and squeeze it’s juice. Add rose water to the juice. Rub this watery juice on your face, and keep rubbing with a cotton ball soaked with this. Keep rubbing in light circular motions for 5 minutes, then let it sit for 5 minutes. Wash off to reveal clean tan less skin.

3. Tomato + Yogurt + Rose Water/Lemon Juice
Squeeze the juice of one tomato and add some yogurt to it. Add rose water. You could add lemon juice but since it’s more harsh, you might end up feeling really tingly and itchy. Add lemon juice only if you are confident it will suit you. Let this dry and then wash off. Again – clean skin. Added Bonus: tomato lightens acne marks. (Well it does but really s-l-o-w-l-y so if you persist, then you can definitely see some great results)

4. Milk Powder + Honey
It’s a weird combination but it works. It’s best suited for mature and dry skin. Keep on for 7 to 10 minutes maximum and then rub off slowly from face without pulling on the skin. Wash with cold water.

5. Aloe Vera + Rose Water / Lemon Juice
Aloe Vera does wonders to soothe sun burns. Add rose water to it and you have an instant glow recipe right there. Once again, lemon juice – only if you are confident.

There you have it! Remove your tan in under ten minutes flat. Love such posts? Sign up  to use the app and receive such newsletters meant specifically for you!
